Short term pain. Long term gain. A personal story about sacrificing something you want now for a better, bigger future
It was a Thursday, just after finishing lunch, when WhatsApp messages started to flood my phone. One, two, three … fifteen. Fifteen beautiful photos.
Photos of a sexy looking Porsche 911 (996 generation) Turbo. A modern classic.
I own the 4S version of the 996 and mentioned my contact that someday I’d like to upgrade to a Turbo. It’s not a Carrera anymore I know, and a Carrera most own a Carrera, but it’s a Turbo. Another league on its own. The top of the food chain of Porsche.
The car has a perfect history (very important in classic vehicles). Recent expensive maintenance done. An exclusive color. Nice interior. Below 100.000 Km. From the end of 2000. Just shy of 22 years.
Almost perfect.
It was sent to me before being publicly advertised. Reserved for me.
I had to make a choice. No pressure I was assured, but I knew that they were waiting for my answer before advertising it publicly, which made put my mind to work to give them a fast but well thought answer.
Price? Also matching. Fair price, or even good price giving the conditions. Good future revaluation potential.
It’s perfect.
But … it’s not in my plan. Not now.
