15 key lessons from the book that resonated on me or that I want to remember for the future.

1. On gratitude: “To this day , whenever I make it “ out the back , ” behind the breaking waves , I offer a little prayer of gratitude — for that experience , for that partnership with the universe . It can give me goose bumps just thinking about it”.

2. Use your limitations as something to be proud. Even as something to market: “We called the styles Short , Medium , and Tall , and Natural was the only color . Doug set out on the road to begin visiting shoe stores in Southern California”. Only natural color, like RSPro cork traction products. Why not?. This is how Uggs started or how Ford started. Remember the famous Ford quote “any color the customer wants, as long as it’s black”.

3. It’s not just what you are, but what you are perceived to be “ It’s not how big you are that matters , ” he said , “ but how big you’re perceived to be”.

4. Personal relations matter. It Matters a lot. “Become friends with your customers and suppliers . Cooperation will beat out competition every time”. For example, representatives success depends on their relationships. Go away from conflictive reps…
